Thursday Editorial: Hillary is not Bill

Am I the only one who gets the feeling whenever Hillary Clinton gives a speech that it is almost as if she is angry with the microphone?  Just listening to Clinton give her rhetorical defense of her Iraq policy, which did raise many legitimate points about the dangers of withdrawing troops, had to make the average Democratic strategist wonder why her party would even consider her for the nomination in 2008?  Any presidential candidate ready for the big dance needs to be persuasive.  You need to be able to talk an owl out of a tree.  Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan perfected that rhetorical ability.  Many agree that Illinois Senator Barack Obama is a charismatic wordsmith as well.  Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, is not.  People disagree with her because she is easily disagreeable.

Why do I know that?  Think of it this way: people booed Hillary Clinton the other day not because they disagreed with the substance of her speech.  It is all about tone, humbleness and friendliness.  The same people who booed Hillary Clinton would have given her husband Bill a standing ovation if he had said the exact same thing.

In the past I have defend Hillary. Not any more. I don't understand why she is still defending the war in Iraq with no apology.
She will preface her statements with something about Bush's failure, and then go on to describe her stance, which is just the same as Chimpy's!

I cannot fathom why she will not come out and unambiguously denounce the war. Her base is against the war. Americans are against the war. So why does she continue to hurt herself and especially her party by
not distancing herself from the war??

She has lost my vote big-time!
She is just as bad as that weasel
Joe Lieberman.
