The Florida Senate race is pretty much finished
Just about any passionate Democrat out there that wants their party to take back both chambers of Congress knows that those hopes rest on whether the Democrats can successfully . For obvious reasons, the Republicans are trying to do the exact opposite. And so far, it looks like the Democrats are getting the best of it -- not because Democrats are masters of strategy, but because concerned Americans all across the country are willing it to happen.
With that said, one has to ask what on earth the Republicans are doing down in Florida? Katherine Harris is the perfect poster-woman for the Bush Administration. Why would they run someone like that? After all, back in 2000, Katherine and Jeb aided the in a number of counties even before the Supreme Court weighed in. In a nutshell, if it had not been for her, Bush might have been trailing when the Supreme Court took the case, which would have made it harder for the high court to rule the way they did.
Getting right to the point, the Harris Campaign is falling apart. She trails Bill Nelson in the by a 59% to 26% margin. If that is not evidence of resentment towards the GOP establishment, then I don't know what is.
To make things worse for her, this week . And on Monday she heads into the hospital for . Yet, she still plans on spending that her dad gave her on this race.
We can now say, unless something weird happens and Katherine Harris somehow wins the Nobel Peace Prize, the race in Florida is over.
