12/05/06: Morning Political Clips with Breakfast

1) Nurses locked out in Las Vegas.

2) Supreme Court weighs race in public schools.  A representative from the Center of American Progress appeared on Fox News.

3) Bush speaks about the resignation of John Bolton.  From your favorite network, Fox News.

4) Chris Dodd challenged John Bolton in spring of 2005.  Thank God he's gone.

1) Nurses locked out in Las Vegas:
Whatever side you are on, there should NEVER not be a fully staffed hospital. Think about the patients [period].

To be fair, if the nurses are underpaid and need to strike, before they can strike some steps should be made in ensuring the patients health. I do not know what that should be, but let's face it...it should be something.

2) Supreme Court weighs race in public schools:
I can't believe this is still an issue in 2006. I have not followed this whole story.

My experience.
I an a native New Yorker and had lived in Virgina Beach in 1969-1972 (then back to NY) when they started busing. They took kids from miles away to another school which was already integrated, but I suppose not as "POLITICALLY" integrated as it should be. Political Gain = have the kids get up an hour earlier and take them somewhere they didn't want to go. Being from NY and my upbringing, integration wasn't an issue for me, it was merely a normal environment for me.
