Edwards turns Coulter attack into "Coulter Cash"
Being on the email list of every single '08 presidential candidate helps me get an inside glimpse of which direction each campaign is headed. Within the last few hours, in response to Ann Coulter's vile attack on John Edwards yesterday, the Edwards Campaign quickly sent out an email to all of its supporters. Here is an excerpt:
This is just a taste of the filth that the right-wing machine isgearing up to throw at us. And now that it's begun, we have a choice:Do we sit back, or do we fight back?
I say we fight. Help us raise $100,000 in "Coulter Cash" this week toshow every would-be Republican mouthpiece that their bigoted attackswill not intimidate this campaign. I just threw in 100 bucks. Will you join me?
Coulter's attack was no accident. It happened on national television atone of the year's biggest conservative conferences. Dick Cheney andmost of the Republican candidates were in the audience. She was evenintroduced by Mitt Romney.
Also, on the Edwards Campaign web site, they put up a link titled "Shame on Ann Coulter." And then it asks people to "Fight back against the politics of bigotry" by donating to the campaign. Ann Coulter could not have given John Edwards a better present than this. It is likely that the former North Carolina Senator will watch his donations this weekend exceed those of Clinton and Obama.
