(Video) Fox guest compares Gore & environmentalists to Unabomber
Here is your latest dose of fair and balanced journalism. Last night on the hit Fox News show "HANNITY and colmes", right-wing author Christopher Horner compared environmentalists like Gore to the Unabomber. Read this transcript for yourself:
HANNITY: But again, if we're having this real disaster -- civilization is in jeopard -- why doesn't he just reduce his pollution of the planet?
HORNER: Yeah, it's about time somebody in this movement other than the Unabomber go off the grid, swear off private jets and start walking the talk.
This is by every means outrageous. But it's not the first time that a supporter of the American Enterprise Institute think-tank went off the deep end and made this Unabomber comparison. Robert Tracinski, a conservative philosopher, wrote just that in a January 2, 2000 column titled, "." And it just so happens that the American Enterprise Institute is the same right-wing group bribing scientists by if they agree to publicly debunk global warming. Very sad.
What's even more disturbing is the way Hannity goes after Gore night after night as if Gore is "the enemy". Even if you don't agree with him 100%, you can't just dismiss all he stands for and all he says. Last night Hannity once again tried to get his guests to say Gore was a hypocrite, they didn't BITE. .
Hannity keeps bringing up Gore's electric bill, and how it is SO "humungous", what he fails to see (or accept) is both Gore and the Mrs. have their offices in the house, AND the electric company Gore uses has made the statement that he pays more (I forget the percentage) for "being green". Hannity wants Gore to stay put and not travel (I guess?), but Sean darling, he is an ADVOCATE!!, and ADVOCATES travel, and if you open your eyes, ears and mind you would see the guy does pretty much all he can to be as close to 100% green as he can. You would think because of how much Hannity loves America, he would appreciate Gore bringing to light anything that could help "Her" out.
If I said it once, I've said it.... hmm, Oh yeah!, A LOT!, Each night Hannity gets a couple of guests that usually side with him (of at least he thinks they will), he "shoots" off the starter pistol (in the form of his mouth) and lets the guests do the dirty work. He doesn't have "much" to say, sure he spews words out, but nothing with any content. He is the "just answer, yes or no" commentator of the century. Other notable quotes of his "that's weak" and "that's a crock". He really isn't all that bright.

Hannity's comments are like saying "If you want to make money why are you spending it?" Well, schmuck, you have to spend money to make money. It's called an investment. In Gore's case he burns some CO2 and in return he spreads the message that burning CO2 is dangerous. His return on investment is probably 1000000 fold at this point.
Take a class in marketing or economics. This is how the world works.

You might want to revise this post– the philosopher Ayn Rand died in 1982. The article in question was written by someone named Robert Tracinski.

Thanks for the correction, Andrew. It has been fixed. :)

Andrew reached it before I did. Ayn Rand reinvigorated the major progression of ethical theories proposed by Epicurus and Thomas Hobbes on Hedonism and Egoism. I'm not so sure I'd classify her views as conservative; she was more along the lines of neoliberalist and libertarian thoughts. As she was mainly a psychological egoist, she'd definitely detest environmentalism as something in the hemisphere of altruistic actions, the opposing views of her own argument.

They want to talk about everything But Global warming. The best way for them I guess is to attack Gore personnally.
Repubs can only be for profit or war.
As far as walking the walk....

I agree, let's re-cycle and get off of the oil habit but man made global warming is NOT fact. Many scientists disagree, they just get no air. Plus, most people could care less, as indicated by a recent British poll which showed people are more concerned about graffitti.
