We Never Hear About "All" the Successes in Iraq

The War supporters are always saying "All we hear about  arethe failures and never about the successes". We keephearing that the left wing bias news, blogs and v-blogs are only postingand reporting the "bad stuff",  and I would have to agree withthat, we DO see mostly "bad stuff". Sowhy aren't the "opposition" waging a counter-attack with"their" side of the story and all the successes, other than "telling" us aboutthem, or once in a blue moon show some purple fingers? Show us more!.

Cheney told us "Bottomline is that we've had enormous successes and we will continue to have enormoussuccesses." , Laura Bush told us "Muchof Iraq is stable, there's just one bombing a day that discourageseverybody". There weren't any statistics orproof in what they said.

Senator McCain claims Baghdad is safe, but apparently Michael Ware (CNNReporter over there) thinks he just may be a "little off". Youcan see the video at  TheBlue State's Political Clips for Nightowls.

IraqWar Results & Statistics as of March 14, 2007 has some soberingfacts and information. The blogosphere got it's fill of the SFCRay Reynolds: The Rest of the Story in Iraq email hoax, which was thoroughlydebunked.

NationalStrategy for Victory in Iraq:

Victory in Iraq is Defined in Stages

  • Short term, Iraq is making steady progress in fighting    terrorists, meeting political milestones, building democratic institutions,    and standing up security forces.
  •
  • Medium term, Iraq is in the lead defeating terrorists and    providing its own security, with a fully constitutional government in place,    and on its way to achieving its economic potential.
  •
  • Longer term, Iraq is peaceful, united, stable, and    secure, well integrated into the international community, and a full partner    in the global war on terrorism.

Four years later and it seems like we're still in Pre Short Term.

TheBoston Globe reported in May 2006: Because of poor government oversight and the underperformance of a privatecontractor and its subcontractors, a $186 million project to construct 150primary health care centers had managed to complete just six of the centers

The Washington Post reportedthis on March 22, 2007:

InspectorGeneral Details Failures of Iraq Reconstruction: The U.S. government wasunprepared for the extensive nation-building required after it invaded Iraq, and at each juncture where it could have adjusted its efforts, it failed even tounderstand the problems it faced, according to the special inspector general forIraq reconstruction.

The majority of the people and politiciansin America do not agree with the way the war is being handled, and would like tosee an end to it. I would like to know what the "other side" knows and aren't sharing with us that makes them feel we can have a victory, andhow many more "one more tries" do they feel is a reasonablenumber?

Tony, please tone down the bold, italics, quotes, and different color text. It's difficult to read that way. Otherwise, I appreciate your opinion here - interesting information!

Jimmy, I'll see what I can do. However the links will always show up in blue by default.
