Iraq's Political Breakdown
In reference to the six Sadr loyalist cabinet members ( Blue State's post "Is Prime Minister Maliki Iraq's Bush?")
After you, there might be an IED around.
In a statement Tuesday, Maliki thanked the Sadrists for their stance onsectarianism but reminded them that they were contradicting what they hadpreviously agreed to as part of the UIA's political program, which says notimetable would be announced before Iraqi forces were fully ready to take onsecurity responsibilities.
As long as I can remember, contradictionhas been a part of talks in that region. What makes this administration thinkthat this time is any different? Or is the question "what are we reallydoing there?". With the lack of a well defined victory, and many reasonsgiven for why we went there, it just doesn't seem to add up.
