McCain Has Lost His Mind (and his place in the race)
Senator McCain was on (takes a minute to load) and I really do believehe has lost his mind. He makes a lousy attempt at the tactic of "talkingover" Jon Stewart, and what comes out of his mouth is...nuts? McCain makesreference to audience applause: "I think I know who's side they're on""Stewart: "They're on America's side" the audience cheers andapplauds loudly (best part). The guy sings , he says all is , he jokes that he brought Jon Stewart a present from Iraq (an ),this guy is a pip! Plenty more knee slappers where they came from. It's evenfunnier when he thinks Bush handled the war badly from the beginning, I wonderwhat "the right way" is?
Since Baghdad Market McCain made his trip to Iraq, he has fallen behind candidatesthat aren't even running yet....
Grinnell, Iowa - Political insiders almost always seize on the same subjectand very often they are wrong about it, but it is hard to go (or call) anywherein political America this month without hearing the same thing: Can you believehow far John McCain has fallen and how fast he's done it?
How far? Far enough so that the onetime presumptive Republican nominee is, in atleast one reputable poll, in third place, behind former Sen. Fred D. Thompson ofTennessee, who isn't even running, at least not now. How fast? In the blink ofan eye. For a swifter descent early in the political cycle, you would have to goback to George W. Romney, whose remark that he had been brainwashed on Vietnamsank an otherwise appealing 1968 candidacy.
McCain has irritated me so much in the past few weeks, Ijust had to get this off my chest (will need counseling to get it our of myhead).
Here are the two parts of the McCain interview on the Daily Show:
