Thanks for checking out The Blue State. Now to the big question: who are these guys? The site is managed by Todd (me!), the founder and Chief Editor. I started the site back on March 31, 2004, and did not begin taking it seriously until around the end of 2005 when I realized how much of an impact I had on people and the national political debate. As a political science student at the University of Washington, I put every extra hour that I could into making this site better.
Once I finished my undergraduate studies and began working full time, I needed immediate help with the site. In March of 2007, I turned to two politically savvy individuals that had commented on the site frequently. They now contribute to the site daily, whether through posting or their administrative grunt work.
Tony is The Blue State's #2. Of all things, this guy is big on investigating the truth, no matter whether the conclusions are favorable to the right or left. Bottom line: there are politicians in positions of trust; they work for us; and it's our job to hold them accountable. Tony is now a frequent poster, and has a large influence on the stories we choose to research.
Erick, the major influence behind our latest page design, is also a contributor. He is graduating this spring from his college in Oklahoma City. He majors in Advertising and Public Relations. Firms take notice: do not overlook people like Erick if you need help promoting your content on the internet. He wrote his thesis on that very issue, and as a test subject took his own web site from 500 hits per day to 180,000 hits per day in just one semester. Erick also posts blog entries on this site.
