As I post each morning, here are some of the political stories thatmight not be worthy of their own posts, but are nonetheless newsworthy:
- This weekend, spoke about Tony Blair's roll in Bush's political strategy that led to war: "I think that the almost undeviating support by Great Britain for theill-advised policies of President Bush in Iraq have been a majortragedy for the world."
- Former South Dakota Republican legislator was arrested this weekend and charged with eight counts of rape -- which included foster children and legislative pages.
- Democratic lawmakers are trying to pass a law that bans lawmakers from using to buy and sell stocks.
- Playboy Enterprises CEO and Chairwoman has endorsed Barack Obama for president.
- More details are coming out about the altercation between John Cornyn (R-TX) and John McCain (R-AZ) over the immigration bill. According to the , McCain yelled at Cornyn, saying, "F--- you!" McCain added, "This is chickens--- stuff. You'vealways been against this bill, and you're just trying to derail it." (Again, this was a NY Post article -- so believe it at your own risk!)
- Former New York City Police Chief went on MSNBC on Friday to talk up Rudolph Giuliani's experience. "Here's a man that had a city that was one of the worst run cities inthe country," Kerik told host Condessa Brewer. "It has a $40 billion budget. That budget is probablybigger than 45 of the 50 states in the U.S. He took that city and madeit one of the best. Then they got to witness his leadership on andafter 9/11." (Kerik is just the guy Giuliani's campaign does not want contributing in any capacity.)
- At the first ever -- a tech conference that was held in New York City -- members called on the '08 presidential candidates to sign their tech policy manifesto. Those policies include 1) declaring the internet as a public good -- as electricity, education and highways are; 2) making wireless connectivity universal; 3) provide online access to government hearings; 4) deploy the best technology experts following disasters to help rebuild the communication networks.
- Alexa's online show that Ron Paul's web site is out-pacing the campaign sites of Rudolph Giuliani, Mitt Romney and John McCain.
- According to the , anabolic steroid use is as common as heroine.
