As I post each morning, here are some of the political stories thatmight not be worthy of their own posts, but are nonetheless newsworthy:
- Gasoline is now officially at an all-time high -- even when factoring in inflation. The national average is .
- newspaper is reporting in its Tuesday edition that Iran, al Qaeda and Iraqi-born Sunni militias have formed an alliance, and will step up the campaign this summer to force the U.S. out of Iraq. (Even though I question the credibility of this story, I am posting it regardless so you can decide for yourself whether you want to believe it.)
- Senator (R-AZ) is facing a conservative backlash over his support for the bipartisan immigration compromise. "Every year of inaction, the problem is simply getting worse," Kyl says. During his reelection campaign last year, Kyl strongly opposed a guest worker program.
- 784 pages of that he wrote each day in office are being released. It will cost $34 per book.
- Democrats are preparing to meet the President's demands by passing an Iraq funding bill that does for U.S. troop redeployment from Iraq. The bill will also contain an unrelated provision that raises the by 70-cent increments for three straight years.
- A live MSNBC online poll shows that 88% of respondents believe Bush should be on trial for impeachment. Vote .
- Democratic Poll: Clinton - 35%, Obama, 25%, Edwards - 18%, Richardson - 5%
- Democratic Poll: Clinton - 35%, Obama - 20%, Edwards - 13%, Gore - 13%, Richardson - 4%.
- In a video now being posted on , John Edwards says that although he takes responsibility for his $400 haircut, he never arranged it. (When keeping in mind the absurdity of the attacks against Edwards on this issue, he has handled it quite humbly.)

Does Kyl feel the same way regarding inaction related to fixing the Social Security system? Remember how awfully broken the system was a few years ago according to Bush? Then it just went forgotten. Yet another problem that Bush has failed to fix because he is not capable of serious compromise.
