McCain aide: Obama wouldn't know difference between RPG and a bong
Over the last day, John McCain and Barack Obama have been going at one another over the Iraq funding bill. It all started yesterday when McCain said Obama and Clinton were to Al Qaeda by voting against the Iraq funding bill:
"I wasvery disappointed to see Senator Obama and Senator Clinton embrace the policyof surrender by voting against funds to support our brave men and womenfighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"This vote may win favor withMoveOn and liberal primary voters, but it's the equivalent of waving a whiteflag to Al Qaeda."
Obama :
"Governor Romney and Senator McCain clearly believe the course we are on in Iraq is working, but I do not," Obama said.
"If there ever was a reflection of that, it's the fact thatSenator McCain required a flack jacket, ten armored Humvees, two Apacheattack helicopters, and 100 soldiers with rifles by his side to strollthrough a market in Baghdad just a few weeks ago."
And then McCain :
"By the way, Senator Obama, it's a 'flak' jacket, not a 'flack'jacket," McCain chided, by way of pointing out his military service.
Actually, if you look in the under "flack", it says the word is a variant of the word "flak." Bottom line: they mean the same thing.
That didn't stop a McCain campaign aide from going :
"Obama wouldn't know the difference between an RPG and a bong."
Well that was low! Usually when someone unleashes an ad hominem attack, it happens after they lost the argument. If that is the absolute best attack the Republicans can throw at Senator Obama, then that should give Democratic voters an even better reason to make him their nominee this winter.
Yeah, but Obama, despite less military service, clearly knows the difference between when to start a war and when not to. So it doesn't seem to me that McCain's experience is helping him much. In fact it seems a detriment to him because he seems to think that the only way to solve problems is by use of force. But that's his life, that's his history, that's all he knows so his outlook is not surprising. That's the problem with packing Congress with retired militia men. I mean military men. They only know one way.

Well, I guess that's an open invitation to admit that we've all been wondering for months what John McCain is smokin'.

McCain served our country well, but now it's time he should hang his hat up, work on his anger issues and retire. (and maybe take something for the "cuckoo cuckoo")

Bah, it wasn't that low. The guy could have said many-a-things that went further than that. The comment is just inane and ignorant. I think there are better ways or better words to attack Obama's little or none military experience and reinforcing the idea that McCain knows what both are. A lot a ganjah was smoked out in those jungles--I've heard the stories across the board from the vets themselves.
I'm not worried by comments of such minute importance, because Obama's level of judgement are leagues above most serving public office now. We can just go back to his 2002-2003 speeches to see his prescient words.

Right,
And McCain became a POW because he surrendered.!!!!!
And McCain couldn't even stay awake on national TV during his own party's President giving the State of the Union.........
McCain, you better stick to telling us why anyone would vote "FOR" you. Instead of telling us who NOT to vote for......

"And McCain became a POW because he surrendered.!!!!!"
Robt,
I am by far anything that even remotely resembles a supporter of McCain, however I do feel the need to .
I used the information from because it was as accurate as anything I have read or viewed (tv bio's). If you have any information contradictory to this, please post...I would be very interested in it.
