Big and Small - Airtime Allotted
We all know who won the Republican debate Tuesday night - Wolf Blitzer - but it's interesting to actually quantify what we all felt, that the "big three" candidates received more questions, more opportunities to comment, and more time in general. That's no surprise - it was the same in the Democratic debate on Sunday.
Let's look at how the candidates compared, not by issue or by composure, but purely by the time given to take their stances on the issues.

I was surprised to find Tommy Thompson had less time than Ron Paul, but the point here is to see the generalized differences between the "top tier" and "second-tier" candidates.
Giuliani, McCain, and Romney combined for 36:23 minutes of this debate. When you add Wolf into the mix, you're at 55:57. No wonder the second-tier remains there...they aren't being given the chance to communicate with the voters.
The same is true in the Democratic debate from Sunday.

Clinton and Obama were given 30:26 all to themselves. Wolf, fortunately, talked a lot less, but was spoke more than every other candidate.
It's also interesting to see that the "Big Three" in the Republican camp had just six minutes more than the Democrats' "Big Two."
