Blue Nightowl Clips
As we post in the middle of each night, here are some of the popular political clips making their rounds on the blogs:
- Ron Paul on Colbert Report. Freedom, constitutionalism, efficient government -- what's not to like about this guy?
- Michael Moore talks about the movie SICKO on Nightline.
- Another Youtube user makes a tribute to Barack Obama.
- Record increase in funding for vets.
Enjoy your Saturday everyone. More posts are on their way.
What's not to like about Ron Paul? How about the fact that he wants to get rid of social security, hate crime laws, food stamps, the department of education, medicare, and regards Richard Nixon as one of his heroes?

I second Arlen. He wants to get rid of everything, and fairly quickly as well. The consequences could be huge if he doesn't change things at least in stepped phases over a longer span than one term. Best of the republicans, sure, and I generally like him more than Hillary (who seems very neo-conish despite Bill), but he's still bad news (though I do trust he has good intensions, so he could pull through). 2008 is not feeling very good to me. If Hillary wins nomination, which it clearly looks like she will (bloggers seem to prefer Obama, but the mass media seems to put Hillary in an undeserved light), versus someone comparable to Satan on the (neo)con side, this election promises nothing of what the US needs to get better.

Michel is making a point I think we should all be thinking and talking about. This election cannot be about wishful thinking...no matter how much we'd like to see
(fill in the blank) ... the actual necessity is to get someone elected who will be the most representative of the needs of the people, and the country, and the world, in terms of restoration of our laws, our credibility, our honor, and trying to step forward into the brave new world of common good.
