Blue Radar

As I post each morning, here are some of the political stories thatmight not be worthy of their own posts, but are nonetheless newsworthy:

  • Karl Rove lost his Blackberry.
  • When asked yesterday whether the Iraq war is helping Middle East peace, White House Press Secretary Tony Snow said, "Don’t know. … Hard to say."  (Is it really that hard to say?  Or do you just not want to say it?)
  • The police chief in Basra, Iraq was replaced following his failed effort to thwart a Sunni mosque bombing, which came in retaliation for the destruction of a Shiite mosque in Samarra.
  • Three months after Iraq agreed on an oil deal, the agreement is being renegotiated.  (Obviously unfortunate news, and it underscores the political divisiveness in the Iraqi government that is no different than one year ago.)
  • A US contractor paid for Saudi Prince Bandar's daughter's honeymoon.
  • Senate Democrats are recommending that the Justice Department look into whether a US Attorney replacement helped lead efforts to suppress minority voters in Florida.
  • The RNC claims it has lost thousands of its emails.  (Lost?  Or destroyed?)
  • John McCain is challenging Mitt Romney on his sudden policy shift on stem cell research.
  • National Democrats (USA Today/Gallup): Clinton - 33%, Obama - 21%, Gore - 18%, Edwards - 11%, Richardson - 5%.
  • SurveyUSA Poll: Clinton vs Giuliani in 16 key states
  • SurveyUSA Poll: Clinton vs Giuliani vs Bloomberg in 16 key states

If we left anything out, feel free to add any stories in the commentbox.

I think that the Survey USA Poll is pretty interesting, BUT. . .since when is Alabama a key state and Florida isn't. And where is Nevada??
