As I post each morning, here are some of the political stories thatmight not be worthy of their own posts, but are nonetheless newsworthy:
- President Bush's approval rating has dropped to in the latest Pew Poll. It is the first time that Bush's disapproval rating was twice that of his approval rating.
- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he will try and on the immigration bill on Thursday. That means a vote on the bill may either happen on Friday or next week.
- Late Tuesday night, the House to launch a formal probe to investigate indicted Congressman William Jefferson (D-LA).
- In reaction to Scooter Libby receiving more than two years in jail, White House Deputy Spokesperson Dana Perino , "The president said he felt terrible for the family, especially for his wife and kids."
- As his last mission in office, British Prime Minister Tony Blair is trying to President Bush to change his view on whether to regulate carbon emissions. (Good luck with that!)
- On Saturday, Bush will fly to Rome and for the first time.
- George Washington's School of Political Management released a on how to target younger voters.
- According to , GOP presidential candidate Fred Thompson has very broad support among Republican voters -- more so than any candidate other than Giuliani.
- Nationwide Democrats (): Clinton - 34%, Obama - 26%, Edwards - 15%.
- New Hampshire Democrats (): Clinton - 38%, Obama - 16%, Edwards - 13%, Gore - 8%, Richardson - 8%.

I remember watching the Jefferey Dhamer documentary, you should have seen his father, he was distraught. He was a nice guy and I "felt terrible" for him.

On Bush and the Pope: One can only hope that perhaps lightening will strike twice in the same place.
As for Fred Thompson's popularity with Republicans: No kidding. Oh, please. A big mean mouthed, father figure, bully; a TV hero come to life ... with the conservative views firmly in place, and a big cigar. No kidding. Singing to the choir. He is the walking prototype of the conservative hero.
He might take it even if the Govenator could run against him.
These are the days ... watch and be horrified
