Military Dot Com Update.

Military_comThe following stories are from Military.Com,a very worthy "Pro-Troops" web site. It is definitely a site worthsubscribing to and getting weekly updates from. I am sure Bill O'Reilly woulddeem this a "far left kool-aid drinkers site".

'War Wounded Underpaid'
Disability compensation for veterans severely wounded inIraq and Afghanistan, particularly the youngest, is set too low, creating alifetime earnings gap with non-disabled peers, according to a draft study ondisabled veterans' incomes prepared for the Veterans Disability BenefitsCommission....More

My 2 cents: In my opinion this is criminal. We are constantly beingtold who supports the troops and who doesn't, well I support them (not the war)and my support doesn't stop when they can no longer pull the trigger

'Bill OKs Lowering Flags When Troops Die'
Legislation passed by Congress would require all federalagencies in a state to comply with a governor's request that they fly theirflags at half-staff to honor a fallen service member. The measure would amendfederal law with regard to the flying of the national flag at half-staff....More

My 2 cents: I can't wait to hear conservative talkradio, Fox News and the "Pro-war" element start telling us why thisisn't good. After all, the flags will be flying half-staff constantly for a verylong time.

'Army Brass Losing Influence'
At a time when the U.S. Army's Soldiers are doing most ofthe fighting and dying in Iraq and Afghanistan, the service's influence in keydecision-making positions is waning. Of the U.S. military's nine combatcommands, only two are run by Army generals, and that number will soon be cut inhalf....More

My 2 cents: Bush fired all the teachers and brought in substitutes.Smooth move Ex-Lax.

'Bill Would Improve Care for Veterans'
Responding to shabby treatment of wounded Soldiers atWalter Reed Army Medical Center, a group of senators moved to boost disabilitypay to those hurt in combat and improve care for brain injury....More

My 2 cents: Even though this legislation wasintroduced from both parties, lets not forget that some of these bastards werewell aware of the conditions at Walter Reed.

'Agent Orange Still Haunts Vietnam, U.S.'
More than 30 years after the Vietnam War ended, thepoisonous legacy of Agent Orange has emerged anew with a scientific study thathas found extraordinarily high levels of health-threatening contamination at theformer U.S. air base at Danang....More

My 2 cents: Neglecting war veterans has been going on for so long, youwould think they would have it figured out by now. It's all about money andpolitics.
