Obama Girl music video explodes into hit
Some things have 'mega hit' written all over them. Judging from the positive media buzz that this clever piece has created for Obama, it is becoming one.
The amateur video titled "I Got a Crush on Obama", which reports has suddenly grabbed the attention of the campaigns, is quickly becoming a political vacuum on the internet as we approach the long summer months. A 24-year-old Phillies fan from Hazeltown, calling herself , released the video through her site . This attractive Obama fanatic expressed her love for the Chicago Democrat during a three-minute self-directed musical performance now on .
If you can, while sharing a laugh, watch the whole thing. It gets better after the first 30 seconds. When you contrast this video with George Allen's last year, it is exactly the kind of humor that helps a campaign.
It is certainly playing well with younger audiences, which is very important because a record-breaking number of adults within the 18 to 29 age demographic are expected to volunteer between September and January for their favorite presidential candidates. The more volunteers each campaign can get on the ground in Iowa and New Hampshire, obviously the more of an advantage they will have in the final weeks. In other words, it is very important in the long, boring summer months to excite young voters and motivate them to stand up and get involved.
Maybe most significantly, the video underscores the impact that can have in today's personalized political era, which would never have been possible eight years ago.
Why is it that Obama is the only candidate whose fans make original media for? First it was the anti-Hillary ad, then the rap/reggaeton songs, and now this. I think this can only be positive for Obama.

You're right on, Tom. It only underscores the excitement behind the Obama Campaign, which is good long-term news. Obama definitely has the "cool" factor about him, and is playing well online. Among liberal blogs, I'd say that Edwards has the upper hand. But among the myspace crowd, Obama wins out. I've never seen this kind of enthusiasm before. What we are witnessing is the merging of pop culture and presidential politics.

i saw this a few times on fox and friends this morning. they kept asking 'will this hurt obama?'
they were really trying to make this negative.

crshedd...wow, that does not surprise me. lol and a negative thing? Fox must not understand younger voters then.
Fox & Friends has developed a reputation of attacking dumb things like that. They even attack Democrats when they do the weather report: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YvFCci9EaY

I'm not sure you can use "Fox" and "understand" in the same sentence. Look again, at the very video you cite - the oh so very worldly weatherman commentator, who apparently hasn't got a grasp of the word "immigrate", but feels qualified by some (extra terrestrial no doubt) power of self agrandizement to sneer at others - who actually do know how to use the word.
Exhausting, all this holier than thou posing and puffing!

Hi! Greetings from Spain. Very nice and very cool video. Fantastic and incredible. And great imagination, too. Congratulations girls. Here, in my country our video is very famous (you’re even in the national news, girls). I hope you the best. Thanks for a great thing. Keep on fighting, beautiful girl. God bless you, and Obama too. Bye.

The Obama Girl vs. Guiliani girl episode has a side joke on Kucinich, which is ironic. Dennis actually *does* have a smoking hot wife young enough to be his daughter. Kinda seems like Kucinich answered the phone when Kucinich Girl called.

What an instructive news, but I think differently.
