(Video) What if Barack Obama actually won?

It's at least fun to imagine what would happen.  As CNN's Frank Sesno reports, if Barack Obama did win the presidency, there would be drastic changes in the way Washington does business -- from foreign policy to how the Executive Branch respects the constitution.

SESNO: What if Barack Obama actually wins?  He would be an unprecedented president: the first African-American, multi-ethnic, civil rights lawyer, community organizing commander-in-chief.  Confidants say his staff would reflect that.  Also the fact that he likes and taught constitutional law.

And don't forget the fact that Obama has always been against the Iraq war -- which is by far the most important policy issue this generation.

From all the ethical scandals, to Katrina, to warrantless wiretaps, to the ballooned defense spending, to a disconnect with ordinary Americans -- the Obama Campaign is making the case that in order to clean up the mess we need a president that is not from Washington and has deep connections to the grassroots.

In January we will see if that reasoning resonates with Iowa voters.  In the meantime, Obama has a lot of ground to make up in the polls.

What if. What if we had stopped and questioned the evidence and justification for going to war.
What if we had allowed cooler heads like Kucinich,my guy,Cynthia Mckinney, Maxine Waters, and so many others get their opinion out without labeling them as "enablers." A teacher of the constitution? He should be screaming at that piece of butt wipe known as the patriot act.
I think Mr.Obama may be a very nice family man and may do well as President but what this country needs to do first is restore our constitution as fast as humanly possible and make sure no piece(os) legislation can threaten it. Then and only then should a "first tier" candidate be allowed to hold our highest office.
Future CNN What If pieces will be very interesting to watch and thank you for posting this video. Kinda short though:(
I will make a prediction; Kucinich will be third to last featured candidate followed by my guy or Gravel.
Good day.

"Iraq war -- which is by far the most important policy issue this generation."

How typical of this country it would be to reject the only competitive candidate who actually had the foresight to see the Iraq disaster beforehand. Paul, Gravel and Kucinich not withstanding, I have no idea why anyone who agrees with the above quote would consider someone other than Barack Obama.

I think we need to be asking the truly hard, unspoken question, now, because we need a Democratic candidate who can win:

Do all of us really think that America is LESS conservative than it was 20 years ago? 15? When the voters get to the ballot box are they really going to ELECT (this is not about primaries) a person of color, or a woman? Remember, Republicans get to vote on this one, too. And historically, they come out in greater numbers on election day. Many will have that distinction, and only that, in their minds...

I honestly think this is something we need to be discussing, from every angle we can come up with.
