As I post each morning, here are some of the political stories thatmight not be worthy of their own posts, but are nonetheless newsworthy:

• The Pentagon is asking Congress for $1.2 billion for bomb-resistant armored vehicles.
• Militants in Iraq massacred 29 Shiite villagers in Baghdad.
• According to a report released from the Information Security Oversight Office, in 2006 "the number of new classified records incorporating previously classified information increased sharply."
• White House drug czar John Walters made 20 trips with US taxpayer money to appear with Republican congressional candidates in 2006.  That is in violation of the Hatch Act.
• Diane Sawyer falsely claimed yesterday on Good Morning America that Harry Reid would filibuster the Iraq bill.  (She has it backwards!)
• Elizabeth Edwards took a swipe at Hillary Clinton: "And I'm not convinced she'd be as good an advocate for women. She needsa rationale greater for her campaign than I've heard. When sheannounced her candidacy she said, 'I'm in it to win it.' What is that?That's not a rationale."
• National Republicans (Rasmussen): Thompson - 24%, Giuliani - 23%, Romney - 12%, McCain - 12%.
• National Republicans (Zogby): Thompson - 22%, Giuliani - 21%, Romney - 11%, McCain - 9%.
• National Democrats (Zogby): Clinton - 37%, Obama - 25%, Edwards - 11%, Richardson - 3%.
• Wisconsin Democrats (Strategic Vision): Clinton - 40%, Obama - 24%, Edwards - 14%, Richardson - 6%.
• New Hampshire Democrats (CNN): Clinton - 35%, Obama - 25%, Richardson - 10%, Edwards - 8%, Gore - 8%.
