As I post each morning, here are some of the political stories thatmight not be worthy of their own posts, but are nonetheless newsworthy:

  • CIA sources say the latest National Intelligence Estimate, which plays up Iran's influence in Iraq, lacks supporting evidence.
  • The AP reports that Alberto Gonzales may have perjured himself on Tuesday: "Documents indicate that eight Congressional leaders were briefed aboutthe Bush administration’s terrorist surveillance program on the eve ofits expiration in 2004, contradicting sworn Senate testimony on Tuesdayby Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales ."
  • Today, the House will vote on a farm bill that the White House is threatening to veto.  Democrats will easily have the votes, as it is supported by many Republicans in rural states.
  • The House passed H.R. 2929, which would ban permanent bases in Iraq.
  • A person on Bill O'Reilly's web site threatened Hillary Clinton's life.  This comes just a few days after O'Reilly accused the Daily Kos website of being too mean to the former First lady.
  • New York City Voters (Quinnipiac): 73% approve of the job Michael Bloomberg is doing as mayor.
  • Sources say that Newt Gingrich may endorse Fred Thompson instead of running for president himself.
  • A woman yelling "you’re not a real conservative, sir" was removed from a Fred Thompson event.
  • John McCain's ad team is quitting his campaign.
  • South Carolina Democrats (Insider Advantage): Clinton - 43%, Obama - 28%, Edwards - 13%, Richardson - 5%.

If we left anything out, feel free to add any stories in the commentbox.
