'The Body Armor Issue' - Round 2 (No pun intended)
Back in May MSNBC did an on the to our troops, and compared it to a different armor called , which many believe is superior to the armor currently being used. Oneof those that believe Dragon Skin is better was the developer of InterceptorBody Armor which is the armor used today, Ret. Marine Lt. Colonel Jim Magee.
Magee, who has no financial stake whatsoever in Dragon Skin, told us, “Ifyou would ask me today, ‘Jim we’re sending you to Iraq tomorrow. What wouldyou wear?’ I would buy Dragon Skin and I would wear it.â€
The Army said Dragon Skin failed their tests, and what they currently issueis the best out there (ahem).
The Blue State posted an extensive story on this issue back in May, 'Military.com:Army Taking Dragon Skin to Hill'
After the body armor issue made its rounds, and congress started pokingaround a bit, the wonderful Army "desk sitters" decided to takeaction. They are now looking into better body armor.
Military.com reported ''
The Army has issued an industry-wide request for a new kind of body armorthat can defeat even more powerful rounds than the current ceramic plate and hasopened the door for the new armor construction that includes flexible systemsmany say are more comfortable than today's vests.
The new armor insert, dubbed "XSAPI," is intended to stoparmor-piercing rounds more deadly than the ones the current "enhanced smallarms protective insert" can defeat, will weigh less than a pound more thantoday's ESAPI and could have more coverage than the rigid ceramic platescurrently fielded to U.S. troops in combat.
The Army's latest solicitation - dated June 20 - marks yet another chapter inthe ongoing debate over allegations that the Army has ignored armor technologythat could yield more protection and comfort than its current"Interceptor" vest. In May, an NBC investigative report raisedquestions over whether a certain type of body armor called "DragonSkin" was stronger than the Interceptor - which is worn by most Americantroops in the field. ...
"The Army has issued an industry-wide request for a new kind of body armor"It seemed they had one knock on their door which they ignored until Congresscalled them on the carpet and wanted an investigation on the matter.
Here we are in July, in true support of the troops this should be getting pushed, shoved and rammed through whatever bureaucratic process it needsto go through! And some of the pushing, shoving and ramming should see somethroat and ass action along the way.
History Channel's 'Mail Call' testing Dragon Skin ()
Dear Tony ~ You are hard at it today, my man. Great stuff!
This so directly follows along the lines of the crude oil spill story, it's important to make the connection.
We all, for generations, have been raised to rely on "big daddy" - "those", who know better.
We've been slow to rise to the wake up calls, but they're getting mighty intrusive now.
There "ain't no big daddy" and we need to toughen up, and move on without the culprits.
Leave it behind, and move on.
Did anyone watch georgie-porgie-puddin-and-pie basking in the lock-step adulation arranged for his fourth of July? (bear in mind: every single human you saw in those news clips was "invited": hand picked) Embarrassing. Really, more than that...
Kind of horrifying.
Reminded us elders of the old newsreels (do you know what newsreels are/were?) of the Nazi marches to show the world their "might and right". Every move in step. Every child brushed and polished and trained to recite the oaths and pledges...(primed to turn their parents in if any deviation in blind allegiance surfaced in a household).
Fewer and fewer are of an age to "remember", now. But if you cannot remember, learn! Read. Not the rewritten history, but the accounts of the times. Old news films. Old radio transcripts. It is critical to us now, to realize not only how this amazing indoctrination was done, but that it was done at all!
People listen for what they want to hear... It is so critical to be able to think, and discern, and research, and anayze for ourselves.
This really did happen; and it's happening again, only this time we're it (though not alone as a nation of potential puppets this time). All you have to do is watch Fox news. And, of course: think for yourself.

Perfect, Tony! Right on the mark. And this one to follow:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwOhtSJIqVY
An interesting side of the rise of Nazism was the use of music. Well, the Germans have surely got the music! And they used it to great advantage in raising the spirits, and hopes, and enthusiasms of the Nation; and then to turn those perfectly human emotions in such ways as to encourage inhumane actions. The use of music dulled the use of reason.
I have not seen "Clockwork Orange", as a matter of choice, but I have been told that part of the point of that movie is to demonstrate how music can be used to affect behaviors.

Wow. The commenters here are something else. Comparing Bush to Nazi and going off on Fox News. How original! And how mind-numbingly boring.
Anyways, to the topic - .
