(Video) Webb manhandles Graham on Meet the Press

This is exactly why bloggers like myself were pushing so hard to elect Jim Webb (D-VA) last November.  Webb speaks out on principle, not political calculation.  What he said on Meet the Press today echoes what seven in ten Americans are saying about this war.

When Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) floated White House talking points about Iraq, Jim Webb shut him down cold.  This was priceless!  It gets better as the video goes on:

WEBB: This is one thing I really take objection to, is politicians --

GRAHAM: The soldiers are speaking, my friend.  Let them win.

WEBB: May I speak?  Is politicians who try to put their political views into the mouths of soldiers.

Maybe each of the '08 front-runners ought to consider Senator Webb as a potential running-mate.  He is definitely my favorite Senator, that's for sure!

Damn. JWebb is unleashed. I havent seen much from him compared to what I did during the elections and he is way more assertive and confident now in public, at least on here. If every Democrat came out with so much force, we'd all be better off.

Graham is weasel and blind follower of Bush. He'll never see what he doesnt want to. Can you imagine George Allen sitting next to him. Thank you, Virginia!

As for why do they re-enlist? They are both wrong. Many of them re-enlist because it's their job. How else are they going to raise a family of four? By quitting and hoping that Lockheed Martin will hire them? Not quite.

Yep, amazing performance.

The pat on the back was the best part. In your face, Lindsey. And questioning Webb's military knowledge...maybe not a good idea.

Webb should make a handbook for Democrats on how to debate Republicans. This was brilliant. I like how Webb kept calling Lindsey, "My friend." lol That was classic!!!!
