A Walk Down Memory Lane with Michael Chertoff
With the news that Michael Chertoff may be Bush's top choice to replaceAlbert Gonazales, I thought it would be appropriate to post this video of his(what I believe to be) incompetence. So sit back and watch the show, then askyourself "is this the guy that deserves or is qualified to be the next AttorneyGeneral of The United States"? I'm sure if he is chosen, the petitions will start flying again (hopefully).
Tim Russert exposed the lies that came from the administration after Katrina
I don't think this characterizes the essential problem with Chertoff, which is that once he (as the new man in charge)got to the part about concentrating on "What’s going on now, and what may yet come…" the performance has been utterly reprehensible.
He's not wrong about where the responsibilities for the evacuation lay - and not responsible for the failure to address the problem years earlier, when it came to light.
There is no doubt that Chertoff is "one of the boys" and as such has failed the test of genuine concern and oversight in the care of those in need. This clip, however, is not a good example of showing it.
I'm betting there is plenty of footage out there that shows the real, physical actuality of what has and has not been done in the name of the Federal Government bringing aid and relief to those people, both temporary and permanent. The proof is in the pudding. Not in the rhetoric.
And this being annniversary time, I think we ought to be seeing a lot of it.
