The weekend is here, at last!  As we post in the middle of each night, here are some of the popular political clips making their rounds on the blogs at this hour:

1. Another embarrassing video for Rudolph Giuliani.
2. Melanie Morgan attacks Chris Matthews for exposing Cheney hypocrisy.  her logic is so nonsensical.
3. Melanie Morgan is Olbermann's Worse Person in the World for Friday.
4. Michelle Obama asks people to fight fear.  "I am tired of living in a country where every decision that we've made over the last ten years wasn't for something, but it was because people told us we had to fear something," Michelle said in introducing her husband.  Very well done!!!  (The good part starts 1:30 into the speech)

Wow, Giuliani seems to always get himself in so much trouble with his mayor's Inner Circle Sketches. Besides that whats with the ACTING?! lol

1994 Cheney Video
I'm really surprised the 1994 Cheney Video got any play on cable news. Melanie Morgan simply refuses to see the reality of what Cheney said in 1994. She is more interested in protecting the image of this war and the current flawed policy. In classic right wing fashion she questions the motives of those who simply produce facts and uses fear to try to shout down people trying to have an honest discussion.

This is another thing that bothers me. I knew a guy who during the Bush Kerry Campaign of 2004 said that Kerry was dishonorable for criticizing Bush as commander in chief because Kerry at one time served in the military. He didn't care that Kerry was no longer active nor the fact that simply being in the race would mean he would have to be critical of Bush. He got this idea from someone else can just kept repeating it. I went on to prove the case as to why it was ok for Kerry to oppose the Bush. Anyway I say all of that to say that people like Melanie Morgan don't care about an honest debate, they simply want to try to claim moral high ground at all costs, if there is none they will make it up. She is more interested in trying to make sure that no one in uniform speaks up that she doesn't bother to cite the rules as they are. As a side note I think its a bad idea to not let soldiers speak up. If they were allowed to speak up the problems we saw with armoring Humvees and Walter Reed might have gotten attention well before they were major issues.

I like how she wasn't afraid to say she didn't want to live in a country based on fear. The right wing normally jumps on that and says leave. She even broke down politics of making people too afraid to think. She would make an excellent first lady.

How anyone can watch that Cheney video and try to back him up is insane. I dont need someone to explain to me why Cheney was right in 1994 and right again in 2003. I think i can make judgements for myself. Where was this video 5 years ago? Seriously, why is it coming out NOW? I really dont understand where it's come from.

George, it's that 23% crowd that we've referred to in the past. No matter what -- the US could nuke the rest of the world, for crying out loud -- those conservatives will always always always support this Administration. It reminds me of the movie Naked Gun, when the actress that played Leslie Nielson's girlfriend was programmed to kill him. "I must kill Frank Drebin." Many of these right-wingers don't have a mind of their own, so they memorize White House talking points in order to pretend they're tough. It's disturbing.

Jon, yeah, many conservatives are indeed pissed off at Michelle Obama for saying that. In fact, read some of the comments to her video on Live Leak....they are down-right racist and hate-filled.
