Blue Radar

As I post each morning, here are some of the political stories thatmight not be worthy of their own posts, but are nonetheless newsworthy:

• Congressman Tom Davis (R-VA) believes President Bush will "tweak" the report General Petraeus reads to Congress in September.
• Senator John Warner (R-VA), who will likely retire at the end of 2008, advocates a troop redeployment from Iraq.
• The intelligence report on Iraq released yesterday calls the situation "grave," and that political progress "has stalled."
• The season premiere of Real Time with Bill Maher is Friday tonight at 11 PM ET on HBO.  Guests will include political activist Tim Robbins, writer Stephen Hayes and journalist Michael Martin.  GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee will also make an appearance.
• Keith Olbermann will make his network debut on NBC this Sunday.  He will host a special episode of Countdown with Keith Olbermann on NBC at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT, and then join Bob Costas and the rest of the football crew before the Eagles-Steelers NFL exhibition game.
• Democrat Bob Kerrey is getting ready to run for the Nebraska Senate seat in 2008 if Republican Chuck Hagel retires.
• MTV and Myspace are teaming together to hold a series of "candid, unfiltered discussions" between young voters and each of the presidential candidates in both parties.
• Bill Richardson is campaigning hard in Nevada, following John Edwards' decision last week to pull his staff out of the state.  Richardson was in Las Vegas on Thursday campaigning for the Hispanic vote.  (It was 105 degrees there yesterday.  Now that is called earning every vote!)
• Iowa Democrats (Strategic Vision): Edwards - 23%, Obama - 22%, Clinton - 21%, Richardson - 14%, Biden - 5%.  (Thinks are tightening up!)
