As I post each morning, here are some of the political stories thatmight not be worthy of their own posts, but are nonetheless newsworthy:

- Congressman Peter Hoekstra (R-MI) says Bush's troop surge is .

- President Bush will commemorate the by flying to the Gulf Coast next week. (Nice try, but no one will take your sympathy seriously.)
- Making his network television debut on Sunday, Keith Olbermann will host a right before Sunday night football. (Remember though, the show will be mostly about football.)

- At a concert this week, gun activist about killing Barack Obama. "Obama, he's a piece of sh**, and I told him to suck on my machine gun," Nugent said. (The clip contains explicit language.)
- GOP presidential candidate for failing to solve the larger problems. "We didn't fight corruption like we should, we didn't curtail spending, we didn't resolve problems," Huckabee said.

I love the term "gun activist". If you're gonna be an activist, might as well be for guns, right? If we could all just have guns, we'd be fine. I've never had a problem a gun couldn't solve.

That must be The Persian Gulf, right? Where would he get the crust to show his face in our Gulf - the part of the country where the shameful display of his Administration's indifference and neglect toward those in need in this country,& toward human conditions worldwide, has been burned into the Nation's conciousness - highlighted for us all by the still visable and unresolved abuse and misuse and utter indifference to the people of New Orleans.
What a shame.
