Blue Radar
As I post each morning, here are some of the political stories thatmight not be worthy of their own posts, but are nonetheless newsworthy:
- The FCC has set that will allow the public greater choice when it comes to cell phones and wireless devices.
- Michael Mullen, Bush's nominee to become the new Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, yesterday that the US will remain in Iraq for years, not months.
- House Democrats will on an Iraq bill that would call for withdrawal to begin, but would allow President Bush to decide when the last forces would come home. The reason why the Democrats want to delay the vote is because there is enough Republican support to override a Bush veto, and the Democrats actually don't want their own bill to pass. (Strange!)
- The in Iraq for the month of July was 74 -- the lowest of 2007.
- Transcript of the .
- 35 more are in danger of turning blue. In those districts, the Republican incumbent trails a generic Democratic opponent by 5 points, 49% to 44%.
- Fred Thompson $3.4 million in the month of June, lower than the five million his campaign had aimed for.
- Sam Brownback is calling for a in Iraq: "Steady, intense diplomatic effort is necessary to bring about thiskind of reconciliation in Iraq. In short, we need a political surge inIraq." (Then why do you continue to give the President cover by criticizing Democrats that want to bring our troops home?)
- Iowa Democrats (): Clinton - 30%, Edwards - 21%, Obama - 15%, Richardson - 13%.
- New Hampshire Democrats (): Clinton - 31%, Obama - 31%, Edwards - 14%, Richardson - 7%.
- South Carolina Democrats (): Obama - 33%, Clinton - 29%, Edwards - 18%.
If we left anything out, feel free to add any stories in the commentbox.
Three or so days ago I mentioned that the current power weilders in government - "have no notion that their "time is up" when the next election comes along"
Dick Cheney said, last night:"The president feels strongly -- and I do too, I agree with him -- that it's important for us to pass on these offices we occupy to our successors in as good a shape as we found them. And that means protecting and preserving the integrity of those processes,"
There it is. Out of the horse's mouth.
The ideological members of the circle that has held power over the course of the current "Administration" and achieved their goals toward a powerful central government with limited "interference " from the people, have no intention of letting that get away just because there is an "election" coming up.
Nothing else matters to them now.
And nothing else should deflect our attention from that.
The last two elelctions were stolen. Do we think they have gotten less sophisticated at that?
