(Video) Democratic candidates at the Yearly Kos Convention

As the Yearly Kos Convention draws to a close, we take some time to reflect on the appearances yesterday from six Democratic presidential candidates.  What a debate it was.  Here are some clips:

  • Camera follows Mike Gravel around.
  • John Edwards gets asked a question about populism.  Edwards even complimented Obama.
  • Richardson gets booed for wanting balanced budget amendment.  Why?  Is a $9 trillion deficit not enough?
  • Chris Dodd confronts Murdoch's purchase of Wall Street Journal.
  • Edwards and Hillary jokingly go at it.  Hillary says she will continue to take money from lobbyists (I kid you not!), and explains why lobbying money is not bad.  Obama sets her straight on that!!  And then Obama gets standing ovation.  Edwards chimes in.  And then Kucinich goes after Edwards.  Great exchange!

If any of you find other videos from the event, feel free to post them below.

On the Lobbyist issue.
Hilary is trying to have lobbyist money and claim that shes not bought. Total BS. If she wants to get money from people that she wants to represent she should go directly to normal people instead of trying to get loads of lobbyist cash. I'm glad Obama and Edwards set her strait on that lie. Unfortunately there are a lot of Democrats who want to elect Hillary in the primaries just because she is the front runner and a Clinton. She has no reason to worry about being principled because she feels she is "inevitable". Wake up Democrats! Is this really what you want? More of the same? It's unlikely but I really hope she is dethroned as the front runner.

Right on Jon! I was so surprised to hear her try to justify receiving money from lobbyists. I thought she was more politically calculated than that!!

Yep - To justify that corporations represent the average person is completely naive. Can she then explain why income is so skewed to the upper class now?

Obama should go to town on this. And he did here but he has to hit it more. She made a major mistake on this and she was at least smart enough to keep her mouth shut the rest of the discussion. She's Corporate Hillary - and she made that very clear here.
