War hurts military children

We've talked about the refugee crisis; Iraq's poverty situation; military suicides -- as well as a whole host of other problems with this war.  A new Pentagon-funded study addresses the effect this war has had on US children:

Mothers were three times more likely to have a substantiated report ofchild mistreatment when their soldier husbands were deployed than whenthe fathers were home, the Associated Press reported. Mothers at homewere nearly four times as likely to neglect their children and nearlytwice as likely to physically abuse them during deployment periods.

Lives, money, family life -- this war is not producing any positive results when it comes to real people.
