Blackwater security firm fired first shots

All week we have read and watched on the news about the Blackwater security firm, and how it is under fire for its involvement in a shootout that killed at least ten Iraqi civilians.  Today, a report by Iraq's Interior Ministry found that Blackwater fired first:

A preliminary Iraqi report on a shooting involving an Americandiplomatic motorcade said Tuesday that Blackwater security guards werenot ambushed, as the company reported, but instead fired at a car whenit did not heed a policeman’s call to stop, killing a couple and theirinfant.

Eric Prince, the CEO of Blackwater, once served as an intern to George H.W. Bush.  The following video shows just how much Blackwater has profited off Bush's war:

When confronted about the actions of military contractors in Iraq, and how they are not forced to comply with the uniformed code of justice, President Bush dodged the question.  He even admitted it:

BUSH: I don't mean to be dodging the question, although it's kind of convenient in this case."

There are more than double the number of US contractors in Iraq than there are US troops in Afghanistan.

This is just another sad example how big money policy causes harm to the rest of the population.

Lets fry the guys before we know the facts.
That is right along the lines of your Liberal mindset.

Better yet, why don't you just get Jack Murtha to accuse the guys of murder, or does he only do that to our military men?

Love this example of "deer in the headlights" Murtha getting grilled, then saying he was in the military long long ago.

Nice appology, jackass.

Ted,

Ah.... "name-calling", standard ops procedures when conservatives can't think of an appropriately cutting barb.

The amazing thing about you is that you have little or no problem with trillions of YOUR tax dollars being wasted on no-bid contracts (like Blackwater's) in Viet-Iraq to provide an illusion of security (oh yeah...and secure the OIL). But loath to share your tax dollars for children's health care. But your a Christian, so I guess that might make you feel TOO good. Gee, I thought Jesus said something about "do this for the least among us"...go figure!

"Lets fry the guys before we know the facts.

Wasn't is the American Civil Liberties Union who defended Senator Craig?

So much for your generalities without thought, Ted. Try again.

If these guys want to play soldier let them join up and get into uniform or stay the hell out. As a taxpayer I do not want to pay their bloated salaries. I understand that the guy who heads up Blackwater is a good pal of the Bushies, he interned for George W's old man, and that's why he got the fat, no-bid, no responsibility contract. The whole bunch of them are nothing but a bunch of vultures. The real soldiers do the real fighting and dying while these creeps are cashing in. But I guess that's what this trumped-up Bush war is really all about: cashing in.

trumped up Bush War?
Oh.. so there really was NOT terrorists who hit us on 911?
And there really is no Al Queda?
And there is really no problem throughout the globe with Islamofacism..its all just "trumped up."
Well, by all means lets just pull out.

BTW.. calling Murtha jackass is not name calling, it is just clarifying what he is!.
Man, just come clean, apologize for calling those men murderers and grow a set of balls.
I do have no problem with Fed Govt. spending tax dollars on military ops to secure our borders... that is the Feds #1 job.

It is NOT the government's job to provide health care for children.
The Government's job is NOT to set up a welfare state.
And puleeze don't pretend you know me and my faith.
I have no problem with charitable giving and helping others, but that is NOT the Government's duties.

George, thank you for pointing out that the ACLU is really for conservatives too! (not sure what your ACLU point has to do with Murtha condemning our troops before the verdict is in..kinda like Hillary calling those cops in NY killers before they were put on trial..oh, hey. I am proving my point about the liberal mindset.) There are just so many examples of the ACLU standing up for the right thing, I don't know where I am going to place all my " I love ACLU" bumper stickers.
I'll wait with baited breath as they back the Christian faith soon, anytime, anytime at all.
I'll also wait for Mr. (besmirch the troops) Murtha to apologize for calling them murderers.

Even more threatening is that Blackwater USA trains American police in urban warfare, civilian unrest suppression, and is building three bases in strategic parts of the USA.
That does not bode well, especially if you realise there are 400 FEMA camps empty and fully staffed waiting for what exactly?

Yes Gary, a trumped up war. You think it's a war on terrorism? Well you seem like a rather bright lad. Why don't you enlighten us on what a "win" in this "war" will look like?

Use your imagination, I know it may seem like a daunting task. Project ahead. What will the triumph in the war on terrorism look like?

Thousands of islamic militants lay down their weapons and embrace the new American democracy? Burger King, Nintendo, Pizza Hut? Bush making speeches, shaking hands, signing treaties? Club Med in Falusia? No more terrorist attacks?

Wake up, ain't gonna happen.

Iraq is not any war on terrorism, it's the war on Iraq and it's people.

Protecting this country from terrorists is a far more sophisticated game involving improving border security, inteligence, cummunicating with allie's police and inteligence agencies and yes, even specific, narrowly targeted, military action when needed.

Our actions in Iraq are counter productive. You talk about the lives lost on 9-11 and you still endorse this war? SHit man, we've now created a BIGGER disaster than 9-11. More dead, bigger financial loss. I hope you don't trade on the stock market! Whoops, take that back, that's how I make money off chumps like you. Keep trading.

So before you preach war why don't you think it through first.

So off with you lad, go watch FOX news and look for a rebutle. You hack.

Cheers, Mike
