Blue Radar
As I post each morning, here are some of the political stories thatmight not be worthy of their own posts, but are nonetheless newsworthy:
- (BUSH) Here is the of President Bush's Iraq speech last night.
- (IRAQ) : 43% support General David Petraeus' recommendation, while 38% oppose it. (Then Again, this is not Petraeus' policy, it is the White House's policy. Bush is just letting his generals do the talking for him.)
- (JUSTICE DEPARTMENT) Friday is Alberto Gonzales' on the job.
- (GLOBAL WARMING) According to the , an independent scientific panel found that the Climate Change Science Program, which President Bush created, has been "plagued by delays" and has made very little progress in its research.
- (WORLD) Child mortality worldwide has hit an , according to .
- (2008 ELECTION/SENATE) of the Washington Post noted after Mark Warner's Senate announcement that he has never lost an election. "Some are even predicting -- privately -- that the race is over before it begins," Cillizza wrote. The Democrats are looking to pick up another seat.
- (2008 ELECTION/PRESIDENTIAL) Rudolph Giuliani is at the New York Times for allowing a full-page ad from MoveOn.org that criticized General David Petraeus. He wants equal time. “We are going to ask The New York Times to allow us tomorrow to printan ad that will obviously take the opposite view,†Giuliani said.
- (2008 ELECTION/PRESIDENTIAL) National Democrats (): Clinton - 44%, Obama - 23%, Edwards - 16%.
If we left something out, it's because we either wrote about ityesterday or are scheduled to do so in an individual post later today. Otherwise, feel free to add any stories in the commentbox.
Dont you kind of feel like David Petreus is your new President?
I'm pretty sure that 40% of this country will agree with whatever a man in a military uniform says. After all they are our brave men in uniform and they deserve the benefit of the doubt for their sacrifices for this great nation.
Unless of course that man is wearing another countries flag - then that man is an untrustworthy, terrorist, brainwashed by a rouge regime.

Good one, George!
And as to Guiliani's temper tantrum (and a little late on the bandwagon, there, at that):
“We are going to ask The New York Times to allow us tomorrow to print an ad..."
The NYT sells ads. Put up or shut up, as the saying goes. Cheap b------!! Equal time doesn't come with paid advertising.
And quite frankly, that goes for the rest of the whiners too. And if you're a Congressman you've got a war to stop; and a war criminal to put in jail - not time for strutting around making self important/pseudo patriot remarks!GO BACK TO WORK.
