As I post each morning, here are some of the political stories thatmight not be worthy of their own posts, but are nonetheless newsworthy:

- According to , the allegations against Senator Larry Craig (R-ID) "strike some Senate leaders as unsurprising."
- Homeland Security Director Michael Chertoff says that in comparison to 2001, America is "" safer from terrorist attacks.
- While on Larry King Live earlier tonight, former President Bill Clinton was by the host about the Larry Craig scandal. Clinton replied, "Well, first of all, I think we ought to recognize that this is a verytraumatic time for him and his family. And whatever happens or doesn't,most of his political career was behind him. So whatever your party, weshould be hoping that he and his family can work through this in a waythat leaves them as whole as possible."
- During an informal coffee gathering, Barack Obama that when he is president, the process of health care reform will be an open one where each taxpayer will have complete knowledge of what is going on, so that drug companies don't prevent the reform from happening. "What the president can do is shine a spotlight on the process and(involve) the American people and keep the pressure on and that issomething that didn't happen. In many ways it didn't happen in '93," Obama said.
- Tonight on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Republican Fred Thompson his candidacy for the White House. "It starts right now," Thompson proclaimed. "I don't think people are going to say, 'You know, that guy would makea very good president but he just didn't get in soon enough.' If you can't get your messageout in a few months, you're probably not ever going to get it out."
- During the Fox News GOP debate, the candidates let Fred Thompson hear it for deciding to skip the event. “Maybe we’re up past his bedtime,†. That jab obviously refers to the widely-held criticism among political insiders that Fred Thompson is .
- Jim Mills, a former Fox News producer that joined the Fred Thompson campaign a few weeks ago, due to "strategic differences."
