Obama calls for immediate withdrawal of combat troops

In a speech that Barack Obama will give next hour, the top-tier Democratic presidential candidate is expected to outline a clear plan to end the war.  Here is an excerpt from the speech he will give:

"Let me be clear: There is no military solution in Iraq and therenever was," Obama was expected to say in a speech Wednesday at AshfordUniversity.

"The best way to protect our security and to pressure Iraq's leadersto resolve their civil war is to immediately begin to remove our combattroops. Not in six months or one year — now," the Illinois senator wasto say.

This will force Hillary Clinton to take a strong stand as well, or else face the possibility that anti-war voters will rebel against her.  The ball is now in her court.  Which move will she make?

After Obama's excellent performance yesterday, I had a feeling he would make his move rather soon.  Here is a clip from yesterday of Obama voicing his concerns to David Petraeus and Ryan Crocker:

Excellent job by the Junior Senator from Illinois. Obama, if nothing else, has shown he is for real. He's not a flash in the pan. He will be President one day.
