What Wisconsin means for Obama

With the nation's eyes set on the big March 4th primaries, it's important we don't understate the importance of the contests tomorrow in Wisconsin and Hawaii.  For obvious reasons, Hawaii is bound to be a certain victory for the Illinois Senator.  But Wisconsin poses an opportunity for Hillary Clinton to turn around her entire campaign, and grab the late-month momentum.  More than anything, if Hillary takes Wisconsin it will increase the importance of the two debates coming up.  If Obama wins, on the other hand, the debates become less important, as Obama's nomination would look more inevitable.

So a lot is riding on the vote in Wisconsin tomorrow.  In the latest American Research Group poll, Hillary leads in Wisconsin 49% to 43%.  However, the Clinton campaign isn't that confident.  They are scaling back their efforts there:

Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton has scaled back her Wisconsin campaignschedule by a full day, and is now planning to leave the state afterMonday morning instead of Tuesday morning.

The move suggests the campaign does not think it can overtake rival Barack Obama here.

What is her campaign thinking?   They could turn everything around if they just win in Wisconsin.  Instead, they are mortgaging everything to prepare for Texas and Ohio.  But if they don't have any momentum heading into those March 4th contests, then how can they expect to win?  It makes no sense to me.

Maybe the Clinton camp sees the lead and thinks thats all they can do for now. So they pull out and dig in for Ohio and Texas? Maybe they have it rigged, who knows right? Did you happen to see what the number of undecideds were in that poll?

The ARG polls are basically useless as far as I know. Every other poll has Obama up from 4-6 points here.

I agree though. Wisconsin is going to be important. Clinton cant sit back and let Obama grab another 57% or whatever.

As for OH and TX, it seems Obama could be competitive in TX, especially among delegate count because of the way TX hands out delegates. Plus, he's already within 10 point in the polls there. OH seems more of a longshot for Obama.

The reality is for both Hill and Barack. The Superdelegates will decide. Neither will have the delegates by the convention. Even if Hill wins OH, TX PA. She will still be behind in delegates. Even with a sweep of all 3 she will only net about 26-30 delegates. She is currently behind by 100.

I am sure the demo party will redo the way they setup these states and have more winner take all states like the Rep.

Yeah, I heard about the strange delegate rules in Texas, and how Obama could lose the popular vote there but win the delegate count.

What Obama needs more than anything to set him over the hump in Ohio is Edwards' endorsement. Blue collar workers like Edwards.

The super delegates will only decide if it comes down to a virtual tie. If obama wins Texas or Ohio on the 4th and holds momentum tomorrow there is no tie. It would be over for clinton.

The super delegates job is to keep the party in tact. If they overturn a CLEAR decision by the voters they would alienate a huge part of their base.

according to pollster.com, it is a lot closer in Texas. Obama is only behind by 4-5% anc according to cnn he is only behind by 2%.

Halliburton was scheduled to take control of the Dubai Ports in The United Arab Emiirate. The deal was canceled when Bush was unable to affect the transfer of the American Ports.

Now we see what some might suspect as similiar financial escapading from the Democrats.
