Blue Blogs: Worthy Mentions from the Liberal Blogosphere
Here are what some of the liberal blogs are posting:
Crooks & Liars: 'Girl Dies AfterParents Pray for Healing Instead of Seeking Medical Help' - An 11-year-oldgirl died after her parents prayed for healing rather than seek medical help fora treatable form of diabetes, police said Tuesday. Everest Metro Police ChiefDan Vergin said Madeline Neumann died Sunday.
My 2 Cents: Maybe GOD was busy, but wouldn't he have afew assistants? I'll get back to you after I speak with unless of course you already conferred with .
'ThinkBarack Obama’s Pastor Reflects Badly On Him? Take A Listen To Sean Hannity’sFormer Neo-Nazi/White Supremacist Pal' - Neo-Nazi/white supremacist HalTurner elaborated further on his webcast last night (3/26/08) about his pastfriendship with Sean Hannity. His description remained consistent with that laidout by Max Blumenthal in The Nation. Turner acknowledged he had previously madesome mistakes about dates in his blog post on the subject but insisted that theframework of their relationship was as he described it.
My 2 Cents: Practically every time Hannity confronts aguest, he starts off with "We're friends", "We've been friendsfor..." "My Friend..." (Hannity needs to be abducted and probed)
'Poll:Wright flap hasn't hurt Obama' - The first significant poll since the flap over Barack Obama's formerpastor erupted this month shows the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's comments have notdamaged Obama's prospects to take the Democratic nomination.
His opponent Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, sees her highestnegative ratings yet in the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released Wednesday. Thetwo candidates remain tied among voters.
My 2 Cents: When Barrack speaks I see nothing, I only"Hear", and I like and BELIEVE what I hear.
'Do You Really Still Believe in Your Government?' - TheAmerican people have been hearing that the "Surge" has been the mainreason why Baghdad is "safer" and why violence has dropped down. Buthave Americans really known if they have been deceived or not? From what I seeand hear here in the U.S. is that they do. Five years after their country'soccupation to Iraq, there are Americans who still believe that what theirgovernment is saying is true. And the worst part is that there are Americans whohave no idea what the hell happened in Iraq, and have no intention to know.Their lives are better off without knowing Iraqis and Americans are dying.
My 2 Cents: Think about "the big picture"from the other side. Actually do this with all aspects of your life, friends, family etc. Ya might understand things a little better.
Does anyone else think they should press charges against the parents for the death of their daughter due to negligence?

I thought http://www.fpif.org/fpiftxt/5078
at least as good. Glenn Greenwald at Salon has been typing up articles on lack of media coverage of opposition to "war" : I seem to have to remind people that too is a "Frame" : Occupation. It wasn't long before a commenter noted there was a lot of "Moving the Overton Window" going on. That and media control are doing the deed.

Charles,
RE: "Does anyone else think they should press charges against the parents for the death of their daughter due to negligence?"
I have "general" thought's about this issue. I believe that we all have the right to our own religious beliefs and to raise our children as we wish to (and I don't mean anything goes). HOWEVER, when does logic and fact play a part? A simple example would be watching bacteria die under a microscope when alcohol is applied. You can view this over and over and it is a fact, so...at what point do you see the science in action and "give it a shot"?. After all GOD is a forgiving GOD, and if you make a mistake by seeking another way to heal your child, he'd surely forgive you??
There are and have been many different levels of this throughout history (children dying due to lack of medical treatment in exchange for prayer). Do I think the parents should be jailed? I don't know. Do I think it may have taught them a lesson? I'd hope so. I believe the mind has a lot of power and there are unexplained "healings", and I am also . Perhaps you see my dilemma. I don't think everyone that steals should be prosecuted (stealing a bag of pasta to feed a family?..is the thief's back against the wall, or is it a simple case of some lazy bastard that doesn't work and just takes the easy way out constantly?)
My point to all this: I'd like to see everyone respect everyone's rights, and at the same time be open minded about other options and other's opinions. I believe in evolution, I also believe that it is possible that the first person that decided to start writing "stuff" down just happened to see (what he/she/it thought was) a hotty eating an apple and then the hotty got bit in the ass by a snake.
In closing (what may read as an opinion from a nut), I don't know. What I do know is I'm a truth seeker....I'd like nothing more than to know what these past 47 years have been all about, and how many more I've GOT!...and yes, to the minute.

Yes people have a right to religious freedom and technically the right to determine their own views in regards to medical treatment is one of them. But, I just cannot understand how they could have sat by when they could have taken her to the hospital. I believe there is a very fine line between believing in god and being crazy. Does anyone really think god would not want that child to get the help she needed to keep her alive?
