Hillary might not know it yet, but...

As David Brooks of the New York Times writes this morning, Clinton's hopes are dimming fast:

Hillary Clinton may not realize it yet, but she’s just endured one of the worst weeks of her campaign.

First, Barack Obama weathered the Rev. Jeremiah Wright affairwithout serious damage to his nomination prospects. Obama still holds atiny lead among Democrats nationally in the Gallup tracking poll, justas he did before this whole affair blew up.

Second, Obama’slawyers successfully prevented re-votes in Florida and Michigan. Thatmeans it would be virtually impossible for Clinton to take a lead ineither elected delegates or total primary votes.

Third, asNoam Scheiber of The New Republic has reported, most superdelegateshave accepted Nancy Pelosi’s judgment that the winner of the electeddelegates should get the nomination. Instead of lining up behindClinton, they’re drifting away. Her lead among them has shrunk by about60 in the past month, according to Avi Zenilman of Politico.com.

And on top of that, Hillary is being confronted about her lie regarding the Bosnia visit.

I think it is pretty clear at this point that Clinton cannot win the nomination without some kind of seedy, back room deal. If that happens, the Democratic party will internally implode and the backlash will be severe.

Hillary is a disgrace.

Obama Presidency has potential to greatly benefit the USA and the world.

Please vote "no" to Clinton's lies & MaCain's 100 year war in Iraq.

Please vote for Obama!

Scott, I'm no McCain defender, but he did not say he wanted a 100 year war in Iraq. Below I have an excerpt from CBS news on what he said.

"McCain never actually went so far as to call for a century-long occupation. Rather, in response to a New Hampshire town hall questioner who asked about President Bush’s statement that U.S. troops could be in Iraq for 50 years, McCain interrupted and said, “Make it 100.”

“We've been in South Korea...we’ve been in Japan for 60 years,” he continued. “We’ve been in South Korea for 50 years or so. That would be fine with me. As long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed, that’s fine with me. I hope that would be fine with you, if we maintain a presence in a very volatile part of the world where al-Qaeda is training, recruiting and equipping and motivating people every single day."

So, if there are no casualties, just as with our forces in England (50 years), Germany (50 years), Japan (50 years), Korea (50 years), etc..., then the amount of time really is a secondary issue. The real issue is the casualties. Let's stay focused and not just repeat a Cindy Sheehan slogan or we'll start to loose credibility as she did.

What's up with "Obama's lawyers" killing the chance of a revote? How accurate is this? Anyone have any sources about this?
