Blue Nightowl Clips
As we post in the middle of each night, here are some of the top political clips making their rounds on the blogs at this hour:
- Bill defends Hillary's tale.
- The meaning of community organizing.
- Obama responds to Hillary and McCain attacks, and talks about voter frustration. NICE!!!
More clips tomorrow.
Obama, simply used a Poor Choice of Word, due to being tired, and on the campaign trail for over 15 months. What he meant, instead, is that People are Resentful, experiencing Pain, and Prolonged Discomfort, due to harsh and painful encomonic conditions. However, the fact that McCain, Clinton and others are trying to take a poor choice of words and make nothing into something -- playing politics as usual, which in Reality is a Truthful Statement is dispicable. I hope the people will see through Clinton/McCain's politicking, Distorting and twisting his words and Message for their own political gain and rally to Obama's aide who in all honesty is trying to Change Washington from a Power Broker to Power People, because in the end it will be the people's voice and votes that matter.

What about when Obama misquoted McCain's "100 Years War" statement in a few of his speaches, then had to back-track when he was caught by the media? All sides are guilty of it, it's trash politics and it should stop, but don't make Obama out to be the innocent lamb sent to slaughter.

How did Obama misquote McCain? Senator McCain did say it "would be fine with me" if we maintained a presence there for 100 years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFknKVjuyNk

That's right, he said a PRESENCE, not a "100 year war" like Obama constantly misquoted him as saying.

RJ, a 100 year presence is a 100 year war. Anyone that has studied the cultural complexities in Iraq, including McCain and Obama, should know that. This is not Korea. We're talking about a rentier state. Any US combat presence will continue the war.

That's why McCain said:
"Make it a hundred. . . We've been in Japan for 60 years. We've been in South Korea for 50 years or so. THAT WOULD BE FINE WITH ME, AS LONG AS AMERICAN, AS LONG AS AMERICANS ARE NOT BEING INJURED OR HARMED OR WOUNDED OR KILLED."
So, again, McCain did not say what you have posted. It's just nit-pickin' and word-smithin' to score cheap points. It seems people in favor of Obama keep saying they are above this trash politics, but always want to perpetuate untruths about others. How about we stop bending Obama's, Hillary's and McCain's words? Then maybe we can progress to real issues, instead of gotcha politics.

It's not a misquote! Americans ARE being harmed. They ARE being wounded. They ARE being killed. What McCain is referring to is a paradox. You can't have US troops in any Muslim holy land without them being injured, harmed or wounded. So what he is referring to is a 100-year war.

You are misquoting him. Then you are inffering what you want everyone to think he said. So, you want to take half his sentence and use it against him? Is that fair? Is that what you would want? Should the press and opponents do this with Obama? Are our troops in Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Turkey or Kuwait being harmed more than in other areas of the world? McCain stated he would be fine with Americans in Iraq as long as they are not getting harmed. He didn't say he wants them there; he didn't say he wants a 100 year war; he didn't say he doesn't understand the Middle east. You have said this. It's a misquote.
