If Obama did poorly, he picked a bad night
More than tuned in to watch the Democratic debate last night, making it the most-watched debate this primary season. Throughout the verbal dual, Obama was constantly on the defensive. We will need to wait a few days to see whether polls indicate that viewers thought the questioning was unbalanced, or whether they thought Obama just did poorly.
Hopefully it was the former.
What's with you Obama did poorly...no the ABC news
moderators did badly..the American people lost last night not Sen Obama or Sen Clinton...If anything it showed how this country is polarized by division, cattiness and downright lunacy. We as a country need to fight back against dumbing down being made small by the MSM.
Senator Obama I respect you and have hope that people see this for what it was a smear against an Illinois Senator before 10,000,000 people...Pathetic!

While Obama might not have been mega awesome (I dunno, I didn't think he was so bad. Hillary for example admitted *she lied on purpose*), there are two kinds of people who form the majority of those who watched that debate: those who've been following this since the beginning, and they're opinions won't likely change from just one debate, and those who only watched it accidentally and haven't followed the campaign at all, and I think anyone who is unbiased and watches Hillary and Barack in the same room talking will tend to go more toward Barack. I think if Hillary was not a Clinton, she'd have polled worse than Edwards. I almost said Richardson, but it is true there's an allure to voting for potentially the first woman president.
My opinion: in terms of breaking boundaries, I think for most of the US, a woman president would be a bigger deal than a black president. However, voting on the basis of boundary breaking is stupid. As a Canadian looking in though, I do have a good feeling about the US knowing they're finally breaking these boundaries, at least on the democrat side.

I forgot why I quit watching ABC except for

Gary, that's why I phrased it as "If Obama did poorly," because I don't necessarily think he did. But if it turns out he did hurt himself in the debate, he picked a bad time to do it.
Still, as you eluded to, the moderating on ABC was some of the worst I've ever seen.
