Lies and Hypocrisy

Bill_o_site On Monday's (7/16) O'Reilly Factor Wild Willy set his gears into motion and went on a tear against Jet Blue for "advocating" far left radicalhate.

"What do you think of someone who says the following: 'The world wouldbe better off without him.' That came after Tony Snow announced his cancer hadreturned. Or this: 'The Pope is a primate' ... 'evangelicals are nut cases' ...and some attacks against coalition forces in Iraq are legitimate. All of thosethoughts were posted on a vicious far-left web site called the DailyKos, one ofthe worst examples of hatred America has to offer. That web site is having aconvention in Chicago, and only one major company has stepped up as a sponsor -JetBlue, the airline that melted down this winter. We contacted JetBlue to askwhy it would sponsor a hateful web site. There was no answer, so we sentproducer Jesse Watters to see JetBlue CEO David Barger, who said there is 'noalignment' between the business and politics, and JetBlue customers will 'drawtheir own conclusion.' It is beyond belief that a company like JetBlue wouldsponsor hate mongers like the DailyKos. There comes a time when Americanconsumers have to take a stand and this is one of those times. This isn't anideological issue - if a company was sponsoring a David Duke convention we'd dothe same story. Hate is hate, no matter where it comes from."

-Firstof all, what O'Reilly is referring to are comments left by visitors, nota "post" by The Daily Kos (asJane Hall points out in video). Jane Hall is probably one of the few reasonably fair & balanced commentators on FNC.

O'Reilly did a follow up segment onThursday's show (7/19) 'JetBlue Changes Course'

"Earlier this week we confronted JetBlue CEODave Barger about his airline's sponsoring a conference held by the hate-filledweb site 'Daily Kos.' The hate this web site traffics in rivals KKK and Naziweb sites. Well, today the CEO sent us a statement saying 'we've asked tohave our name removed from their website to avoid confusion.' The mistakeJetBlue made was hooking up with haters. Any corporation or politician whoassociates with character assassins and/or defamers with will be scrutinized. Anumber of Democratic politicians are set to speak at the Kos convention, andwe'll report on that next week. Unfortunately, some Americans do wallow in hate,so an Internet site can do some business peddling that garbage, and there are afew radio and TV performers who make a living smearing people as well. Butcorporations and powerful people must understand their responsibility to rejectthe haters and not support them in any way. That's what JetBlue missed, but weare really glad they have re-thought the situation."

It'simportant to point out that O'Reilly (in his own words) "you have to policeyour site, we do"...so in essence they go through the messages or previewbefore posting the comments by the "Members" (the only way toparticipate in O'Reilly's message boards, or to listen to his Radio Factor is to pay for a premiummembershit). Censorship on a blog, message board, discussion forum orcomment section in my opinion is basically fear of opinion. O'Reilly's choice ofpointing out a far right radical hater is a pretty poor choice, Fred Phelps of the  WestboroBaptist Church and their website GodHates Fags isn't even taken seriously by most. Wild Bill could have chosen AnnCoulter, Glenn Beck,Michael Savage etc. as afar right hater site.

You may ask "why watch O'Reilly...it's a waste of time", well I look at it this way, if I had two children and one was self efficient, reliable and truthful, and one that was an evil dangerous lier, I would most likely keep my eye on the latter.

Another interesting point where the Daily Kos asks why O'Reilly doesn't go after AOL. Read the hate thats spewed on AOL's discussion boards HERE

Bill O Bashing Jet Blue

Bill O does mention Jet Blue provided him with a list of things they do for the military, and he does post them on his site, however after listing six of the things they do, his last bullet point is "...and more" (and MORE?, well list them). No Spinning in a Fair and Balanced world? ...not Fox and certainly not O'Reilly.

Bill O'Reilly, Need I say More?

I thought about adding this to our newly added daily post 'WorthyMentions from the Liberal Blogosphere', (the name can possibly change in thefuture, and if there are any suggestions for a new title, please feel free tosend them in to The Blue State). Idecided it was worthy of a post of its own.

News_houndsOn Friday's ' The O'Reilly Factor' (5/11/07), Bill was fed up and said"I'dlike an honest media in this country...is this too much to ask?" As Iwatched this, I knew the News Houndswould be all over it, so I waited for their post.Medium_oreillymad2

Bill O'Reilly was on a tear on the Factor last night 5/11/07 because an8-page article by retired General McCaffrey that says there are some positivesigns in Iraq is not on the front page of the New York Times or the BostonGlobe. I don't know how to break it to him, but it's not on FOXNews.comeither. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the article is over sixweeks old, and in that time 150 moreAmericans have lost their lives in Iraq.

First O'Reilly summarized the eight pages for us, and it was strikingly likeall the talking points we hear on FOX on a daily basis: our cause is just; theconsequence of failure will be severe; we now need a last powerful effort toprovide the politcal support, economic resources, and military strength it needsto succeed. In faint yellow-on-pink print in the graphic you can make out thedate: March 26th, 2007.

O'Reilly never sided with McCaffrey whenhe was critical of the war, but now is in love with him and his '8 pages'. Billalso says "if things are getting better, don't derail the train"...whydidn't we hear him say the opposite while the war was not getting better? (whichwas the entire time)

Col_huntRetired Col. David Hunt was their to support O'reilly'srant, however Hunt doesn't give Bill everything he wanted to hear. When O'Reillydiscusses the war with retired Generals and Colonels or other experts, he will go at them if theydo not agree with him, however he always agrees with his "Body Language Expert"Tonya Reiman. When a guest does agree with him, he'll cut them off and move on to another issue or statement to gain as many agreements he can secure for future "back up".

Bill O'Reilly has gotto be one of, if not THEE most disrespectful news show hosts there ever was. Read therest of The News Hounds Post HERE...

A Bill O'Reilly Classic

With all the recent Bill O'Reilly videos showing how nuttier he is becomingmaking their rounds, I thought I would post this classic from OUTFOXED and Brave New Films. You can see in the video how unsure he is about  what he is saying, which is indicative of lying.

There are so many sites and videos that show and prove that O'Reilly makesthings up as he goes, then naturally he denies them. One of the better antiO'Reilly sites is O'Reilly Sucks, and if you were to type into the address bar "billoreillysucks.com",that would take you TO O'Reilly's page. Now there's a guy with foresight.....heknows people think he sucks. If you want to get involved in any discussion onBill's page (or do just about anything), you can, but you must first fork oversome $money and become a "Premium member"

Bill O'Reilly, Mr. Fair & Balanced Himself

This posts isn't for the Rosie O'Donnel content, but to point out BillO'Reilly's Fair & Balanced ways.

"We are fair and balanced and we do bring in a nut once in a while"

Thatis O'Reilly's description of anyone that opposes him. Listen to the way hetreats Jane Hall (one of his "teammates"). If you disagree with BillO, prepare to be beat up verbally.

The News Hounds post is about Bill's continuousbashing  of O'Donnel

Bill O'Reilly Thinks Bloggers Should Shut Up

I wonder if Bill O'Reilly ever watches his show after it's been aired, becausesometimes it takes hearing yourself in order to realize that maybe you are alittle extreme (or nuts). On the O'Reilly Factor March 30, 2007, Bill, along with MichelleMalkin bullied Roy Sekoff of the HuffingtonPost. The issue was over a post on the Huffington Post blog when CharlesBouley (one of 900 bloggers) wrote a rather nasty piece regarding Tony Snow.Sekoff denounced Bouley's remarks and told O'Reilly "Bouley's post was taken downeight hours after it was posted". He tried to explain to O'Reilly how the blogosphereworks, but Bill was not in listening mode.

O'Reilly said hate comments wouldn't last 15 minutes on hispage. Bill O'Reilly's web page billoreilly.comhas this disclaimer:

"BillOReilly.com will not be held liable for any user activity on themessage boards. We do not actively monitor user-submitted content. If there is an inappropriate message, please alert us by clicking the"Report This Post" link found above each post."

If you want to join Bill's discussion forum or pretty much do anything on hispage, you need to become a premium member which costs $49.95 yearly or $4.95monthly.

NewsHounds has the complete transcript.

News Hounds point out how Bill O'Reilly just can't get himself to say thewords  "Radical Right". On his web page O'Reilly has The O'REILLYPOLL, and this week the question is  "In your opinion, who is themost radical right?" Every time he he mentions the weekly poll on TheO'Reilly Factor, he says "Who's the furthest right". He can't seem tospit out the words "Radical Right"

Max Blumenthal a frequentcontributor for TheHuffington Post and TheNation made a video during CPAC 2007. This will give you a look at Malkin when she is confronted about false information she put in her book In Defense of Internment

Michelle Malkin goes unhinged and launches a hysterical tirade into the lensof my camera. I ask Ann "John Edwards is a Faggot" Coulter why sheisn't the same person on Sunday morning as on Saturday night. Tom Tancredofanatics lose their cool when asked about connection between race andimmigration, then try to conceal their neo-Confederate paraphenalia. A curiouslypale black Republican explains why black Republicans can't get elected. BobBarr, Grover Norquist and "Flipper," the anti-Romney dolphin, discussthe conservative movement. I receive a special gift from David Horowitz...andmuch, much more!

(Video) O'Reilly against officials testifying under oath to Congress

Bill O'Reilly is glad that former Justice Department official Monica Goodling will plead the fifth amendment instead of testifying in front of Congress on Thursday.  The Fox News host thinks Democrats are trying to get Administration officials to lie under oath, and he compared this alleged tactic to what happened with Scooter Libby.

Two problems with that comparison:

  1. Scooter Libby lied to a grand jury, not to Congress.
  2. Democrats had no control over anything regarding the Scooter Libby case.

Nevertheless, on his show last night, O'Reilly drove home the comparison, and even sympathized with Scooter Libby:

Partial Transcript

O'REILLY: She's taking the Fifth Amendment, saying I'm not going to say anything.  I'm going to go up there and get my Fifth Amendment rights.  Now, if you were in the same position, you would do it, and I would do it too.  And you know why?  Two words.  You know what the two words are.  You want to say them, or you want me?

TURLEY: Uh, go ahead.

O'REILLY: No.  You want to say them?  You know what they are.  Two words.

TURLEY: What are they?

O'REILLY: It's a name.  You know what the name is.

TURLEY: I couldn't imagine.

O'REILLY: Scooter Libby.

TURLEY: Well, you see, that's a bad thing to choose because he's a convicted fellon.

Jonathan Turley, who is a law professor, went on to add that the only time he would advise someone to plead the Fifth Amendment is if they may have committed a crime.  Politically speaking, pleading the Fifth Amendment in front of Congress is like an admission of guilt.

So in O'Reilly's world, there is virtually no Congressional oversight because officials in the Executive Branch never have to testify under oath.  Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, poor Scooter Libby, that harmless little Cheney bear cub.  He was victimized and tricked into lying by that evil prosecutor.

What ever happened to just being honest and telling the truth?
