The return of Wolfowitz

Back in 2003, Paul Wolfowitz promised Congress that Iraqi oil would finance the reconstruction.  More than $1 trillion of US taxpayer money later, Condoleezza Rice is naming Wolfowitz as an adviser:

Paul Wolfowitz, forced to resign from the World Bank because of hisrole in obtaining a high-paying promotion for his companion, is slatedto chair a U.S. State Department advisory panel on arms control, a U.S.official said on Monday.

The official, who spoke on condition that he not be named because ofthe appointment has not yet been made public, said U.S. Secretary ofState Condoleezza Rice planned to name the former deputy defensesecretary and an architect of the Iraq war to chair the InternationalSecurity Advisory Board.

The board gives the State Department independent advice on armscontrol, disarmament, international security and other matters and itsmembers include two former directors of the U.S. Central IntelligenceAgency.

It underscores the fact that neoconservatives still have a significance on policy in Washington, especially as it pertains to matters of arms control.  The only way we can kick them out is by clearing the slate in '08.

Karl Rove, Newest Contributor to Newsweek Magazine

If you don't know who Karl Rove is at this point you've been living under a rock for years. He is now out of the White House but I don't think anybody expected him to disappear, and he certainly hasn't. He was named earlier today as a Regular Contributor to Newsweek Magazine.

Well, The Washington Post is not the liberal newspaper it was,Congressman, let me tell you.  I have been reading it for years and itis a neocon newspaper.                         -Chris Matthews

Newsweek is owned by the Washington Post Company, the most well known newspaper in Washington D.C. which in the past has been called a liberal newspaper but this hasn't been the case for quite some time.  The newspaper's reputation as a Liberal newspaper has been difficult to shake for the paper.  Since Donald Graham has taken leadership of the paper it has become more and more conservative.  Chris Matthews, the MSNBC host called the Newspaper a   Neocon newspaper on his show, I'd have to say their move to make Rove a contributor adds credit to Matthews statement.

Q: What Do You Call a Song Titled 'Let's Impeach The President'? A: A Good Start

I feel compelled to find and post the truth every time I hear Our GreatPresident open his mouth which has become synonymous with lying. Thanks again to "granny" for sending us the link for the video.

It didn't take the liberal bloggers and general long public to react and speak outagainst the dems for caving in on the funding bill. And it seems that theybetter grow a set quickly before we start shopping around. Think about this fora moment, you tell your spouse or significant other you are going shopping, butinstead go to a friends house...simple right? umm, NO!, you are confronted bythem and are told you lied. Maybe that's a simple minded analogy, but comparethat to The President of the United States lying on an ongoing basis, changingthe story and then his supporters actually lie further to support him. Wrong, just plain old everyday kindergartenly,  fundamentally, unacceptably wrong.

Well lets start this thing....

'Let's Impeach The President' Song by Neil Youg. Check out Neils page of Song Videos HERE.(check out the hompage)The Lyrics are HERE.

I do not like Andy Dick in just about everything I have ever seen himin...except this video

'Bush Idiot Speech'

Here is a huge list of anti-warsongs worth a peak. Listof Bush lies.

There is just so much more content which could be added to this post, but Ineed to move on from this "consumption" of me.

(Video) Military wife tells off Kristol

This video has already been posted on Think Progress and Crooks and Liars.  But it does such a powerful job of bringing to life the rift between military families and the Bush hawks that I could not resist posting the video here as well.

Last week on a C-Span morning call-in show, a military wife took issue with William Kristol's disconnect from the personal strains that these soldiers go through.  Kristol was almost speechless:

CALLER: I’m sure when your head hits the pillow you have a luxury of dreamingabout anything that your mind will allow you to dream about… I sleepwith the phone under the pillow. My kids — if someone rings thedoorbell, instead of normal kids they freeze. And they’re in elementaryschool. You all don’t understand. We are military people but we arepeople, too. And the stress that we are under is tremendous.

And what was his response?  You cannot respond to something like that.  Kristol has no idea what it is like for most military families -- and neither does Bush nor Cheney.

Kristol calls opposition to escalation "boneless wonders"

Picphoto011307kristol Only in this day and age would it be considered courageous and patriotic to advocate policies that send people much younger than yourself off to die in an idealistic war that can't be won.  Those neoconservatives sure have guts, don't they?

In a recent column by William Kristol of the Weekly Standard, the conservative editor lashed out at everyone in Congress this week that opposed President Bush's troop escalation plan.  For example, Kristol called Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) "juvanile" for wanting a change of direction in Iraq:

And how about Sen. Obama on the Today show?  "We're not going to babysit a civil war." To serious people that sounds juvanile.  To most of his colleagues, it's a good soundbite.

It's a demoralizing and revolting spectacle.

But that was only part of it:

Today, Boneless Wonders sit on the benches of both parties in Congress.More are to be found on the Democratic side of the aisle than theRepublican.

The Republican Party turned to these neoconservatives to bring old Wilsonian Democrats over to their side just in time for the 2004 campaign to begin.  Instead, ever since the run-up to the Iraq war, all of us have watched first-hand what happens when fairy-tale idealism trumps a reality-based foreign policy.  Ever since the 1990s, neocons like Kristol and Kagan wanted to attack Iraq.  They got their wish.   Just look at where we are now.  Sure, it was worth it.

Look on the bright side: at least we only have 24 months of this thoughtlessness left.

(Video) Neocon talk on Christmas Eve about sending more people to die

Talk about bringing in the holiday spirit on Fox News Sunday!  On Christmas Eve, neocons Bill Kristol and Fred Barnes explained why the President should back a plan to send more young men and women to die in Iraq.

Maybe the fact that even Chris Wallace disagreed with them underscores how right-wing and out of touch that idea really is.  Remember, Kristol and Barnes are not talking about a temporary increase in troops.  They want Bush to increase forces and keep it that way for the remainder of his presidency.

Do you suppose they ever factored in the reality that military presence alone doesn't bring about political stability?  How about the cost of all this?  How about the strain that this will put on the Reserve and their families?  Oh, that's okay for them.  They can handle it, right?  After all, it's easy for Kristol and Barnes to call for troop increases when they aren't the ones risking their lives.  Just get young people to fight your ideological wars for you.  Now that shows toughness.

Democratic presidential candidate Chris Dodd strongly disagrees with adding more troops.
